Earth Guardians Adventure Days (EGADS) Day Camp
The Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary is pleased to announce an entirely new summer nature camp program for children throughout the Northland! We're expanding our camps to include week-long camps which will provide even more opportunities for fun, hands-on and engaging adventures in the natural world in a safe and nurturing environment.

Here is what you'll get when you sign your child up for our EGADS camps:
• Nature-focused camps that include age-appropriate outdoor explorations, games, crafts, and songs, all designed with fun and learning in mind.
• Member's only discounts for each camp as well as multiple camp discount.
• Camps led by professional staff and trained counselors that are First Aid and CPR trained.

Discoverers - Ages 3-4
Start your youngest on a lifelong love of nature with these age-appropriate games, crafts, stories and explorations! Sessions are 8:30 a.m. - Noon Monday through Thursday; each session is limited to 12 children; children must be completely potty trained; mid-morning snack is provided; please have your child dress in clothes that can get dirty.
Cost: $80 members/ $100 non-members

Tiny Explorers - June 9-12
Join in this week of outdoor fun and adventure as we search the trails for hidden treasures and untold stories!

Bugs and Slugs - June 23-26
With nets in hand, we'll set out to catch and learn about animals of the six- and eight-legged varieties as well as those that go without!


Below Your Toes - July 14-17
Your child will discover the wonders of a world found right under our feet. As we hunt through blades of grass and under logs, we'll be sure to find all sorts of fascinating insects, plants, and animals to explore!


Under the Creek - July 21-24
Your child will discover the watery world of Rush Creek as we search for the acquatic insects, crawdads, frogs and fish that call this habitat home!

Explorers - Entering Kindergarten
If your youngster is ready for adventure, then these camps are just for them! Sessions are 8:30 a.m. - Noon, Monday through Thursday; each session is limited to 14 children; mid-morning snack is provided; children must be completely potty trained to attend.
Cost: $80 members/$100 non-members

Scales and Talls - June 16-19
Slither or hop on in as we discover the wonderful world of reptiles and amphibians while searching the Sanctuary for these fascinating creatures. Child will be moderately wet.

Puddle Jumpers - July 7-10
We'll dip our toes into the wet places of the Nature Sanctuary during this wet week of exploration. Child will be soaked!


Seekers - Entering 1st or 2nd Grades
Have your child join us for fun and exploration as we discovers the wonders of nature. Sessions are from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday; each session is limited to 16 children; campers must bring a sack lunch and drink; a snack will be provided.
Cost: $120 members $145 non-members

Wild, Wild Woods - June 16-19
Join in the adventure as we take to the trails in search of birds, turtles, squirrels and other exciting wildlife. Child will be moderately wet.

Mud Muckers! - July 7-10, July 28-31
Ooze into the world of water and mud as we look for frogs, turtles, fish and other creatures that love their watery homes as much as kids love to play in them! Child will be soaked!


Ani-Mania! - July 14-17
Each day we'll explore a different theme in this camp all about animals! Come learn about the various birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and insects that call the Sanctuary home. Child will be slightly wet.

Trackers - Entering 3rd or 4th Grades
Nature lovers will go "wild" for these hands-on days of exploration, investigation and fun! Sessions are from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday; each session is limited to 16 children; campers must bring a sack lunch and drink.
Cost: $120 members/ $145 non-members

Cool Critters - June 23-26
We'll discover and learn who's who among the Nature Sanctuary's creatures as we go searching for signs of bobcats, deer, box turtles and more! Child will be slightly wet.

"Gold" Rush Creek - July 21-24
There's "gold" in that there creek! Campers will hunt for various natural treasures as we spend a super-wet week exploring the watery places of the Sanctuary. Child will be soaked!

Adventures - Entering 5th or 6th Grades
This session is for older campers and will provide opportunities to explore the natural world. Sessions are from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday; each session is limited to 16 children; campers must bring a sack lunch and drink.
Cost: $120 members/ $145 non-members

NSI: Nature Scene Investigators - July 28-31
"Whoooo are You, Who, Who" ... that theme song sounds like an owl we have out here ... Analyze the scene, collect all the evidence, test and magnify samples and you'll find the fun in this week's games of "Who Dun It?" and see how naturalists view the wild world. Child will be moderately wet.

Jr. Naturalist - Entering 7th through 9th Grades - New!
This session is for our oldest campers and will provide opportunities to experience what it is like to be a Naturalist. Session is 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday, June 9 and Tuesday, June 10; over-night stay from 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11 to 12 p.m. Thursday, June 12; campers must bring a sack lunch and drink during daily sessions; a snack will be provided during over-night stay; session is limited to 16 children.
Cost: $120 members/ $145 non-members

Jr. Naturalist Camp - June 9-12
Learn the ins and outs of a Naturalist's world. We'll explore the various animal groups and habitats found at the Sanctuary and work hands-on to help improve our wildlife habitat. As a special treat, we'll conclude our week of camp with an over-night stay on June 11th which will include a night hike on the Sanctuary's trails and a look at the stars with our high-powered telescopes. Child will be moderately wet.

Creekin' Kids - Entering 1st through 6th Grades
Here is a chance for your child to join us for a half-day adventure exploring beautiful Rush Creek. Sessions are from 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.; each session is limited to 20 children; campers must bring a sack lunch and drink. Children must bring towel, change of clothes and extra shoes as child will be soaked! Note: Due to program demand, each child is allowed to attend one day only.
Dates: August 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8
Cost: $25 members/ $35 non-members


Family Summer Programs

Family Fossil Fun - June 21
Learn to find and identify fossils of Missouri. Each family will be able to take home one fossil they find! Sessions are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. This program involves getting into the water. Ages recommended 6 and up; closed-toed shoes are required; each camp is limited to 30 people.
Cost per family: $15 members / $20 non-members

Creekin' Families!
Discover first-hand the amount of life found underneath the surface of Rush Creek! Sessions are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. This program involves getting into the water. Ages recommended 6 and up; closed-toed shoes are required; this program is limited to 30 people.
Cost per family: $15 members / $20 non-members

Family Night Out - August 15-16
Bring your sleeping bags and camp inside the nature center! Experience the Nature Sanctuary at night with hiking, astronomy, and owl prowling. Wake up to a breakfast with the birds! Session is 7 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday. Evening snack and breakfast will be provided. Ages recommended 6 and up. All children must be accompanied by a parent / guardian; camp is limited to 20 people.
Cost per person: $25 members / $35 non-members
Camp T-shirts: $10 each


About Our EGADS Camp Staff
Our camps are taught by a combination of our full-time Naturalists as well as part-time Naturalists and trained volunteers. All camp staff receive a week of intense training and come to us with experience working with children in similar settings. All of our summer staff are enthusiastic, energetic and are committed to providing your children with high quality, positive experiences in a safe and nurturing environment.

Registration Information

3 Easy Ways to Register: Complete the registration form and
• Call 781-8598 and use your credit card.
• Pay at the Nature Center.
• Mail the registration form(s) with check or money order payable to MLTNS to: Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary, Attn: EGADS, 407 N. Lafrenz Road, Liberty, MO 64068.

A confirmation of your child(ren)'s registration will be sent upon receipt of payment. You will be contacted by phone is the program is full or if the camp session is cancelled. For more information or to check on the status of a particular camp, please call 816-781-8598.

Enrollment Discount: When you enroll your child in more than one camp, you will receive a discount of $10 off each additional week-long camp for the same child. Please note this is a member's only benefit and does not apply to the Creekin' Kids camps.

Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel your camp registration, 80% of the camp fee will be refunded if you provide notice 30 days in advance of the camp start date. Camp fees will not be refunded if cancellation notice is given less than 30 days prior to the camp start date.

In the event the Sanctuary must cancel a camp session, you will receive a full refund and cancellation notice at least (5) days in advance of the camp start date.
