Our parties provide a variety of hands on activities that are guaranteed to please. Two partiers checked back with us to share their thoughts. Both of them said the same thing ... "That was the best day of my life!"

DINO-RIFFIC
While no one is old enough to remember dinosaurs, children love to learn about them. This birthday includes making a plaster dinosaur to take home, exploding a volcano, meeting a live reptile and a trail hike to search for dinosaur relatives. |

TRACKS AND TRAILS
Track down some birthday fun with this party! Children will see different kinds of animal tracks, then use models of tracks to decorate a t-shirt or other item (parents provide item) with our fabric paints. A hike to find animals or their signs, trails, and tracks is included. A fun predator and prey game and meeting a live animal are also planned. Recommended for ages 6-10. |
SCIENCE MAGIC
Nature can be magical. Birthday partiers can learn some amazing magic tricks, including how to walk through a piece of paper, that they can try on others. They can also explore some magical science facts and meet a live animal. A hike to see the magic of the outdoors is also included. Recommended for ages 7-10. |

INSECT EXCITEMENT
The Nature Sanctuary is filled with amazing insects such as swallowtail butterflies, katydids, and skimmer dragonflies. Spend your party seeing differences between insects and their friends. Outside, children will catch insects and other bugs with nets and then release them. Inside, children will make their own bug with colorful stamps. |
SNAKES ALIVE!
Bullsnakes, kingsnakes, midland brown, rat and water snakes. So far, the naturalist have never seen a venomous snake here. Children will meet some live MLTNS snakes, go on a snake search, and make their own snake mobile. |

BIRD BONANZA
Partiers will soar above and beyond any normal party to learn about the world of birds. We'll learn what makes a bird a bird and then head outdoors in search of hawks, cardinals, bluebird and more! Every child will also make their very own birdfeeder to take home.
How To Register
Register for these exciting parties at least two month in advance to secure the date you want. Parties are scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, all year long. The best time to reach a naturalist is from 3 to 5 p.m. Call 816-781-8598 and ask to speak with a naturalist, who will register you for the birthday party.
Children of all ages enjoy a nature theme birthday party. Birthday parties include 12 children and 7 adults. The library may be reserved for 30 minutes following the program for presents, cake and ice cream. Parents bring the treats.
